How can one feel it is OK to have your own personal power?

The minute I feel confident I feel it is not my right... I fear that if I like me, and /or even feel a HINT of 'I can be a catch too' for dating, that I"m just not worth that. Or if I want to express my TRUE feelings if being chastised by someone, and show confidence, then I"m 'bad' or I don't have a right to it. It stems from volatile trauma for years, but how would one find a way that it is OK to want or have a feeling of power/confidence?

Because God exists within you as you....
it is not only OK to experience this,
     it is highly recommended.

Thank you Baba... so you are saying it is not selfish to want love, or to feel good or to find joy... or be confident?

The essence of your Self is love...
to experience this, to be one with this
is the nature of your Self.
when one experiences the depth of Self
there is a deep joy, a bliss,
    the deepest experience of love
and a confidence of knowing that one
    is complete in this knowledge.
To want to be one in this knowledge
of the depth of our being
is our reason for being here.
This is not a selfish desire of the ego.
When one experiences the depth of their Self, the Ego is dissolved...
Am not talking about the egoistic pursuit
of pleasure within the illusion of this world
that creates and causes a separation
between you and the oneness of God.
Am talking about a merging into this oneness
where the highest, the purest experience of life is possible,
where the oneness and pure experience of the oneness
of love, joy and bliss is known.
In that state of being there is no desire of the ego,
no separation between you and the absolute truth
of your Self. And it is good, very good, very fantastic. This post was edited by Baba at August 30, 2017 1:22 AM MDT

I think one of the issues I have though, is feeling selfish to 'want' any pleasures... my mother's abuse was almost cult like, and led me to believe I don't deserve goodness, or love, and just 'doing' chores or work was what life should be. So I guess I feel I don't have a RIGHT to simple pleasures; like even my own place, or love from a partner/man. Is that ego.. to want love? I'm not sure, but if it is ego, then our very existence (to want /need love or nice things in our life) relied or been on ego? But maybe it is an ego that is not 'me me me..'  rather an ego that wants GOODNESS for oneself, and I don't believe I deserve goodness :/
