The last thing that blew my mind was the election.  You know.  THAT election.  But before that?  I don't think too much before or after.  I've seen everything twice.  BUT THAT ELECTION.

Same here. Quite honestly, I didn't give a flying f about politics because politicians were acting and lying within normal range so I figured everything would even out and there would be business as usual. Then along comes Cheeto Benito and it really shocked the hell out of me to realize I was actually surrounded by people who would put that racist, misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic, immoral, dishonest, vile, disgusting tool into office, making us a joke in the eyes of the world.

~ that I can tolerate a hell of a lot more on the site than seemingly some people can tolerate. And I still can enjoy the site a lot.

I have every intention of staying.
    :)
I just surprise myself, an "Avoider-of-Conflict-If-Possible," that I can read and see things of a wide variety of beliefs and thoughts -- beliefs and thoughts that converge and are polar opposites. Yet, I surprise myself that I can see/read all of this stuff -- much of which I disagree with at times, much of which I can let anger me and discomfort me - - but I still tolerate others' thoughts and I enjoy the site. And I stay.

That is probably a better statement for my answer.
    :)

  • What surprises me?

CHEATERS !....oh here he goes again, LoL!

    Actually death is surprising.
The governnent where I live likes to give us some kinda rebate checks and then they send papers wanting the money back.
    That's a crappy surprise.

Aging is full of little surprises and just life in general because if you think your life is gonna go how you see it in your head, think again.

I try to enjoy everyday because I don't know what the hell is gonna happen tomorrow.
Surprises happen to me all the time.

  • No, I guess I meant death is surprising because my brother died in a crash and my dad died before I thought he would so I was surprised.
The rebate checks are something to do with the Province of Alberta charging a carbon tax.
It's supposed to make big polluters pay more and the money goes back to us residents I guess, but because I got separated it screwed up something and they wanted the money back.
Now they sent me another check and I used it.
I'm hoping they don't want that back too.
