If you are old enough to remember your parents having an 8track player...

or you eat a lot of butterscotch hard candies so had your own, what song do you most associate with that ugly as' thing?

    LOL! Rat pack for sure.  My father was a music head which is probably why I'm one too.  That 8 track player was both a blessing and a curse.  I know more about pre-1970's music than I care to.  The Girl From Ipanema was a huge song in the 60's and my father loved it.  Many artists covered it.  Here's the original singer, Astrud Gilberto, who I think made the best version.  She has a beautiful voice and, of course, the sax solo with Stan Getz is the icing on the cake for me.  He was a great saxophone player.

  • I can't get my wifi to work :/ so I'll watch that later ... unless i forget to remember:) if I watch YouTube on data my phonebill is a beach.... and my stoopid neibours made a password on their wifi ... i hate their guts then.

    My parents were more into records, but my mom's bestie had this 8-track and I loved it. I still think this is a great song.

  • I love that song!!! my parents mostly records too. But I remember that one song on 8track in living room ... I know was from before I was 4ish cos we moved house around then... I loved that song so much and used to make up play story to it with my stuff animals:) I named my stuff frog jimmy ... and my stuff Bear johnny and I had a pig that was the girl. The frog and bear would would have huge fights ... it was pretty serious stuff.

  • LOL :) I think I know your approximate age Sharona :) I've seen you post it a few times.... you are about same age my parents would be if still alive. They both died too very young. You're young at heart though and make me laugh ... no butterscotch for You!

  • LOL :) I love you:)) ..... it's something that people had in their homes around year of 83' they also had carpet on their walls  instead of floor and  velvet pictures on the wall.... it was a bad time VEENA! Or I just had tacky parents:) not sure .... but pretty sure all parents had same stuff mine did back then :)

  • It's a music thing in between record players and cassette tapes :) it did not last long but was made of fake wood and bigger than it needed to be. That's all I know about that :)
