What’s the best thing you got from your parents?

Haha. Did the other discussion where I mentioned my ear inspire this one? If not, it's an odd coincidence. After years of giving my dad a hard time about my (genetic) chronic ear infections and deafness, when I found out that may have led to a more developed analytical brain, I sent him a thank-you letter. ;)

When I used to lament about not being a fast runner, my mom would tell me that she had to choose between giving me an athletic body or big boobs. She said the big boobs would serve me better in life, so that's what I got. lol I don't think she was wrong. This post was edited by Just Asking at September 5, 2017 4:30 PM MDT

Lol.... I'm sure your story would have inspired a question but I already had this one cued up in a tab waiting for Hurricane Spamella to pass.  ;-) This post was edited by LyricalOne at September 5, 2017 4:30 PM MDT

  • Wait a minute, do you think your ear issue which caused your analytical brain development is also the reason that you trip on things and have that charming klutzy side?
I think your inner ear also controls balance, doesn't it? This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at September 5, 2017 4:30 PM MDT

  • My parents worked the same manual labor jobs forever.
They raised 3 kids and always paid for everything and ended up in a pretty good lifestyle from nothing but hard work so I feel like I have a certain amount of strength in me that I got from watching them.

I have my mum's intelligence and wit and humour. She had a very dry sense of humour and always made a joke about things..I get her 'stand up and fight' from her... she wasn't one to take being trodden on lightly.
