How come you don't have life insurance?

There is no need if you have no dependents.  We should leave our estate in order with enough designated for end of life expenses, but I don't believe it is necessary to anyone to get money because I die.  People will get money when I die but not through life insurance other than some policies provided by my former employer.  It seems to me people are little insurance crazy.   I'm just not one of them.  I don't buy "extended warranties/service plans" either.  Ever.

Heirs.   Those who want to mourn your life but cannot seem to manage because you left them zilch.

  • Mourn my life?  If I leave them nothing, I'm pretty sure they'll mourn my life. :)

Hah.  Dream on.  You will be an erased memory before they even slam the funeral parlor door. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at September 8, 2017 9:13 AM MDT

  • Hmmm ... where I come from people mourn a person's death, but we are getting off my initial point.

Life Insurance is a misnomer.  It doesn't insure life.  If it did you could be immortal ... just sign up!

This was supposed to be a silly comment to your silly comment.  But if you are going to turn it into seriousness, I would never bother with life insurance myself.

I think I would rather spend a night with an insurance agent that someone who married their daughter.

No point unless you have dependants for whom you wish to provide.

If you want to save for your funeral you'd be better doing so by an ordinary savings-account rather than a funeral plan, because the admin fees are far less (they are taken from the interest the bank makes on your money, but at lower rates than an insurance company will charge).
