I've never run it, but we have an annual, international event here called the Crim Festival of Races. The longest race is 10 miles. If I could run it, I'm reasonably certain I'd drop out at mile 5... that's "Beer Corner", where cups of beer are handed to the racers as they run past. There is also "Champagne Corner" at mile 4. :)
Ha ha...that is a weird expression. I just went and looked up its origin and now it makes more sense. The word our modern word "sneeze" derived from meant "to sneeze or snort", so the phrase is saying something is nothing to snort at (in derision).
Thanks Lyrical...I've learned something new today, I believe that earned me a beer! ;)
(Damn it! Now I'm thinking about how similar "derived" and "derision" are, yet how different their meanings.)
