How does where you're born shape whom you will become? Both Mike Huckabee and Bill Clinton were born in Hope, Arkansas. Didja know?

Huckabee turned out to be an Evangelical Baptist Minister and a Pol. Bill turned out to be Governor of Arkansas  and then President of the United States of America. Mike has daughter Sarah...the spokesmouth for The Donald John. Is he filled with pride or dismay at her ending up like that? The height of her career? A spokemouth for Donald John? Something that all little girls aspire to so they envy her and want to be her? Would you?

Mike Huckabee was also Gov of Arkansas. I am sure he is very pleased with his daughter. She does a good job.

I think she is officious, sanctimonious and devoid of a sense of humor.  We see her differently.  I did not know that Huckabee was also a Governor of the state or if I did I forgot. Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy  Sunday to thee. At least Sean Spicer had a sense of humor He would smile occasionally and even laugh sometimes. She is a dour sourpuss. No fun at all. Not my cuppa tea. :)

Well, it isn't only where you're born that shapes who you become, but your education as well.  Huckabee's entire education was at religious schools while Clinton's education was more secular and liberal in nature.  Huckabee did not graduate from the seminary and Clinton studied at Oxford and studied law at Yale where he earned a law degree.

Wasn't Clinton a Rhodes Scholar  Spunky? I seem to remember something like that. As a religious person I wonder if Huckabee ever cringes when his daughter lies on the podium or does he approve of her no matter how low she goes, how sanctimonious she is, how insulting? Parents love their kids and think they're perfect. She isn't even remotely fun to watch. She never smiles. She always lectures. She looks like a commandant in the Russian army. Ninotchka maybe? I'd like to see her loosen up, get down off that pedestal she puts herself on, and treat the press with less disdain. I won't hold my breath. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :)

Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar but he didn't graduate from Oxford.  He came back to the U.S. before completing his studies there.  Yes, Sarah is a very severe looking person and is always happy to make the press look like a bunch of idiots.  I suppose you love your children no matter what, and I doubt he would ever criticize her for lying about this administration.  I have difficulty watching her at press conferences because she never actually answers a question.  If you're going to obfuscate every issue, don't bother to have a press conference.

Huckabee graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. Which is an accredited university.

Considering that he is more than mildly retarded, it doesn't say much for any University that credited him with anything.

I said he didn't graduate from the seminary, not that he didn't graduate from college.

True...the way I read it, it implied that he had not recieved any degree above high school. So I was just clarifying.

Only thing Hope Arkansas brings to my mind is Carolina Cross 183, but then again, I never was in to politics and used to be in to semi organic gardening.

I was thinking of a type of watermelon, Carolina Cross. If I am not mistaken, Hope Arkansas used to have world record watermelons. Just did a very quick google search and Tennessee held the record in 2010. I think that was about the time I quit gardening as my aging parents started needing more of my help. They lived a couple of hours away from us at the time. We had to leave our small farm about 5 years ago so my mom and stepdad could move in with us. All of our bedrooms were upstairs. If I had it all to do over again, I would have built them a small house on our property. At the time, I thought the bids I got were outrageous and that we would never recoup the money if we had to sale. The market proved to be good the last couple of years so we would have done good. Unfortunately we had to put my stepdad in a home a couple of years ago due to his progressed state of Parkinson's dementia and he passed away last month.
Sorry, I got way off track.

Geez how funny odd of me. I totally missed the part of your reply having to do with semi-organic gardening. So now I know there are watermelons by that name and an author too! Whoa. Very interesting what we can find out here from one another. Isn't it m'dear? Condolences on your loss tex. That must have been an extremely trying time for you. Please never apologize when you come to one of the question I've asked. You are welcome to say whatever occurs to you. If it's on topic or off it's fine with me because I know it will be worthwhile reading. You are so right about doing things elsewise if you only knew what was ahead of you. But we never do. SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :) ((hugs)) This post was edited by RosieG at September 17, 2017 7:26 AM MDT
