I practice this: Make the best of-Idiom.

Adapt as well as possible to a bad situation, bad luck, or similar circumstances..try to think and act in a positive way when you have to accept a situation which you do not like but cannot change...

I have a plaque I've had for many decades. "Bloom where you are planted". I have tried to do that Beans/SG.  Thank you for your thoughtful reply and the graphic and Happy First Day of Autumn Friday in the USA! :)

I wish I could be that positive. I read all these inspirational quotes and I try to live my life by them but I  end up crying more. I am a very emotional person and tend to dwell and others that are close to me say i have a "pity party" for myself when things get tough instead of doing something about it. Recently ive had some bad times- with employment,  my children's health, marriage,  - its been one thing after another and when someone says take lemons and make lemonade,  i just can't take it anymore!

You have a choice ally. You are the one who controls how you react to life. No one else can do it for you. I have a plaque I've had for years that says " Bloom where you are planted". Do you? Do you find the good there in every situation and focus on that? Are you adaptable? Everyone has disappointments and miseries and tragedies in their lives. No one escapes it.  Some you have no control over. Some you do. But you can always control HOW you react to it. You know that. I don't have to tell you that. So a day will come when you could decide to look at life in another way. Not what you have suffered or lost  or experienced but what you have to be grateful for, appreciate. If you have your sight you can be grateful for a sunny day or rainbows or the clouds in the sky. If you can hear then you can appreciate birds chirping, symphonies, the sound of the wind and rain. If you can touch and feel then you can pet a puppy or kitten and enjoy the sensation. If you have your tastebuds you can enjoy the taste of your favorite food. If you have a roof over your head that isn't leaking you can appreciate that. Instead of focusing on yourself and feeling bad for you you can focus on the folks in Mexico who suffered two devastating earthquakes in a couple of weeks. Many dead. Enormous destruction. You can focus on the poor folks who lived in Puerto  Rico or the Virgin Islands. Much death. Much destruction. Much rebuilding. Or the folks in Texas who were hit by Harvey or Florida were Irma did much damage. What I'm saying is you need tyo turn things inside out. Look at life from a different angle. As sappy as it sounds count your blessings. I do that every day. Between thee and me I believe that if I am not grateful for what I have it will taken away and given to someone who will appreciate it. I beat that horse to death. I said what I have to say. Thank you for your reply.
