Normally it is just pointing out the hypocrisy.

No it isn't m2c. It is always justifying what your guys do by deflecting the severity of it and talking about what you would rather talk about..what others have done. It is just a ruse that is meaningless and shows the pointlessness of your position. Your children want to do something "because everyone else is doing it". Do you let them do it or do you point out to them they are not "everyone else"? They are your children and you expect more from them?  That's what you always do politically. Justfy the wrongness of what your side does by deflecting to the question to what you much prefer discussing. That is no solution. That is just a weak attempt at making it OK because everyone else does it. It is NEVER OK. Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy Saturday to thee.

No, unless the person is criticizing the actions....we don't know if they approve or disapprove.
Many times someone is criticizing the action, an action I approve or at least do not care about.
For example: Much has been made about President Trump traveling and his golf. Personally I have zero problem with the travel or the golf.  And I did not critize President Obama for either travel or golf.
But I have pointed out to others who were complaining about Trump that Obama travelled and golfed nearly every week for 6+ years.

It's a defense mechanism. It's particularly common in people who have little self awareness and refuse to own their own sh*t.

It is the typical MO in partisan politics. You point something out and rather than dealing with that "they" deflect and switch and avoid answering the question you ask and talk about what they would much rather talk about..what others have done on the other side. That is a pointless and meaningless attempt at making wrong OK. It is never OK. Thank you for your reply SA and Happy Saturday! :)

This country had the incredibly rare opportunity to elect a president that didn't play that game, but we f-ed it up. The Dems completely f-ed it up, in my opinion, when they refused to nominate a candidate that would have crushed Trump. Now we're all paying for their egos, because Bernie isn't a "real" democrat. SMH!
