Who was the most challenging person you dealt with today and why?

I dealt with a particularly rude woman at work who was blaming me for her credit card discrepancies - something that only corporate can handle. She insulted my intelligence and it really tried my patience since that is one of the things that's hard for me to take lightly, but I smiled through it and went about my day. Who was challenging in your day?

Are the "twos" really as terrible as everyone says? It sounds exhausting at the very least!

I think they should call it the terrific twos. This is my favorite age for a child.

Ahh, I did not expect that answer! :) That makes me smile. What else is terrific about it other than kids being so ding dang cute at that age?

Everything is a first for them. They want to touch everything, your eyeballs, their eyeballs, the sky. You can help mold them into loving humans by investing your time and love into them, instead of seeing them as a nuisance. Their brains are like little sponges, and its amazing what they can learn. My grandson sings me the entire version of twinkle twinkle little star every night before we go to sleep (he sleeps with me when hes with us) and he is only two. You kiss their boo boos, not only physical ones, but ones that occur emotionally along the way, paving the way for a solid, loving grown up. If people stopped thinking of it as the terrible twos, and starting seeing it as it should be seen, the terrific twos, i think wed have a lot more well adjusted adults.

W o w. This was such a great response. I completely agree with your last statement. Though I do not have kids and the reality of childrearing is completely foreign to me, I am always on the side of nurtured children becoming caring adults. I'm so glad you have these moments with your grandson!! He sounds like a terrific little man :)

Sorry that happened to you. Some people are just jerks. It was probably a money thing though- people get super weird about money.

Eh, for me it was probably my beau. We have what I see as a pretty big imbalance going on. I'm doing everything I can for him and his kids, and he pretty much isn't lifting a finger. And, he tries to justify this by saying he has a lot going on, but I have way more going on than he does. A couple of weeks ago, I drew a line in the sand, so-to-speak, and told him I wasn't going to be the one making all the sacrifices to make time for us and take care of things. He needed to step up and do something. So, I didn't see him that week, and then I didn't see him for another week. Today, he said that if I'm so busy, maybe we should take a break. Bah. I ain't takin' no break. He's either going to step up or it's done. Which, sadly, probably means it's done, because he made it clear he isn't budging either. That sucks. *shrugs* C'est la vie.

Sorry to hear this, but truthfully, anyone not willing to do their relatively fair share is not worth his salt.

That's extremely frustrating. I'm sorry that you're in this uncomfortable spot! Doing everything on your own when you expect to be in a relationship as a team is not the way to live. I certainly hope he steps up, but if not - he ain't worth it. Dump him!

Did you ever notice that it almost always has to do with someone at work?  They are doubly annoying because you are in a situation where you are stuck.

    With them.

No matter what and that is what makes it so extremely difficult.

I had that today.  I don't like this girl.  She gets under my skin like there is no tomorrow.  So, I had to deal with that today.

Nothing much happened, just her usual psycho self at work.

That's such a good point. Not only are we at work - a place we'd likely rather not be in the first place - but we have no choice in being surrounded with people who are potential giant dumb asses. Is this girl your regular coworker? It's amazing to me sometimes how much someone doesn't have to do something yet is still bothersome xD

I woke up an hour ago.  I live alone, so I haven't encountered anyone yet this morning.

This is honestly the thing I miss about living alone. I wasn't subjected to anyone's annoying tendencies unless I put myself in another human's path. I'm glad to encounter all of you humans here though. :)

I feel the same way.  It isn't so much someone's annoying tendencies is that I guess I'm a bit selfish about my time.  I enjoy the solitude and sometimes I just don't want to hear another person's voice.  I still work, so three days a week I am around a lot of other people and when I come home, I appreciate the quiet.  I do enjoy the humans here, too (for the most part).

Absolutely! I cherish my solitude and the times where I can just be, completely uninterrupted. I'm working a retail job right now so I understand that feeling of coming home after your social energies are expended.

There are a lot of people who have to have someone around all the time.  You and I are happy enough with who we are not to need additional companionship. :)
