What job did they have and what made it so terrible that they just stopped going to work?

I can relate to all of that. When I got back to school after my last Summer break, I soon learned that they had removed almost ALL of the chemicals in the storeroom. Some of it was my personal property. That left the new chemistry teacher in a bind. No lab experiments. That was the last straw and I retired after 1 month. They knew I was retiring and I told them they had better start looking for a qualified replacement since I was the only teacher in the system who could teach astronomy. And you are certainly right about some professor telling me what to teach and then telling me how to teach it. I must stop now or my soap box will be too high to jump off.

Nope. Someone else said that earlier and I think it's a really good guess, but it's not the answer.

If nobody guesses it today, I'll post the answer tomorrow.

You got it, but Glis beat you by a few minutes. You follow the news though, so I'm betting you didn't have to guess at all. ;)

Trivia: 147 is the highest possible break in a snooker match. Ronnie O'Sullivan has had the most 147 breaks in professional Snooker history, including the fastest.
