Have you ever been to either Foxwoods Resorts or Mohegan Sun casinos in Connecticut?

A friend and I have discussed meeting up at one of these two casinos.  I've never been to either.  Have you?  Which one do you prefer and why?  I'd really appreciate your recommendations.  We'll probably gamble a little, (workout & swim if possible), go to a show, have a nice dinner & drinks.  I know this is going to come as a shock to most of you, but this isn't intended as a night out to pick up some strange.  Just two good friends who are meeting up at a halfway point to spend a day & evening together.

    I've actually been to both. I prefer Mohegan Sun. I just find it to be prettier, more comfortable, better laid out, easier to get around. They have a small but nice selection of restaurants, bars and shops. I'm not much of a gambler but I'm sure you'd find what they have adequate. Has a nice hotel attached so you might even want to consider making it an overnight trip.

    Thank you Lyrical!  Although I've been to Vegas & AC, I'm not much of a gambler either.  A couple of hours and I get bored.  We are planning on doing an overnight, so your response is extremely helpful.  Mohegan Sun it is!  Thank you! :-D

    Once, but we didn't go to gamble, we went to see one of the shows.  I can't recall who it was, though.

    I lived in New Haven (1984-86) and Hamden (1997-99) and have been to both several times. I prefer Mohegan Sun.
