Anyone here see the new "IT?" How do you think it compared to the old one?

I gotta say, I'm not really a fan. It seemed to me they relied too much on computer graphics for scares, whereas the old one was more of a psychological thriller.

  • I do not really remember the first "it" because I was young when I saw it. I did go to the new "it" movie and I liked it a lot. BUT! my theatre where I live had just started serving alcohol ( so awesome) and went with a group of girlfriends on a Friday afternoon. So we got drunkish... I don't really remember the movie. I loved it then.

I went with a group as well- I took my dad, who got me hooked on King when I was a kid, and I took my oldest son, who never read the book and doesn't remember the first movie. They both liked the second one better. *shrugs* It was good, and well-done, but I guess maybe I just don't like movies I like toyed with.

  • I can understand that, I remember a few years ago when I heard remaking the movie "footloose" I had a meltdown over it and would complain to anyone and everyone with in earshot:) and I never even watched the stoopid remake. Just didn't like it was being done.

Trying not to read anything because I don't want any spoilers, even tho the plot should be exactly the same! LOL!!

I'm going to watch it next week hopefully. I've already seen to much in the trailer. I have a lot of affection for the original. I used to enjoy scaring myself when I was a kid by watching it.

I don't think anyone cold "spoil" the movie because they did a good job of honoring the book. If you already know the plot, there's nothing to be shocked by. This one just doesn't have the same level of suspense, though, IMO. It feels more "artificial." And, that's all I'll say about that. ;) Lemme know your thoughts when you get a chance to see it!
