I'm sure Massachusetts (where I live) is green with envy. So weird to me that how many illegal immigrants you are able to harbor has become such a treasured mark of self-worth and compassion. Who would have thought there would be anything like this forty years ago?
You are clearly young aren't you. Ever hear of churches being sanctuaries? When churches and clergy were respected in the long ago people could find sanctuary within them. No one would DARE violate it. Now? Well now is a horse of a different color. Thank you for your reply og. SIGH. :(
Well I turn 60 this month.(!) Never heard of anyone having "sanctuary" in a church or a state before recently. Only on TV and in the movies. Guess some people think laws don't apply to them and they can do anything they want when they want.
Harboring fugitives from justice, lawbreakers, (which is what illegal aliens are) is not something to be proud of. Why do some people seem to think that it is?
Seems very much an "I'm more compassionate than you are" game and they go to any lengths and risk anything to show they are more "compassionate" than others. Macho compassion. OK we will let criminals live in our home, OK sex offenders can live in our neighborhood, OK we will let fugitives go. Bring it on!
