What is your opinion of those who rely on scare tactics to get your attention/make a point/present their case? Do you absorb and believe or recoil and reject? Why?

I absorb and reject.   I listen, digest and decide.  If it is a scare tactic, it usually is blatantly obvious unless you are addicted to hysteria. 

Michelle Obama was the voice of reason yesterday.  There was one super star after another in that lineup.   I don't know if they would have been considered so great in the past, it is just compared to what we have been exposed to in the Republican convention, these people are about 40 IQ points above and beyond anyone on that GOP floor.  It's a contest now between the intelligent versus the blatently STUPID.

I used to get concerned, now I recognize it for what it is: Total lack of a reasonable argument. 

I tend to recognize it and pass up their subsequent "offer to help".
