    Would you rather be famous

COULD care less so the question is moot.

when you are alive and forgotten when you die or unknown when you are alive but famous after you die?

That's "could NOT care less".  It means that you care about it so little that the measure of how much you care about it is so small that it can barely be calculated.
Saying that you could care less has the opposite effect: you only lack caring about it to a certain point, but that could increase.

I'm here all day, so don't ever feel abandoned.

  • Or perhaps "couldn't care less". But "could not" care less sounds better. By the way, how is the punctuation and sentence structure in my responses? I used to be a stickler about it but as the years past I just began to wing it.

You know something?  I've thought it over and the best answer is usually the first one, so I'm changing it back to 'yes'.

I have never wanted fame in life and after death, I won't care one way or the other.

I do what I think to be best at the moment---and I always have.

I don't know whether my main purpose here is to affect my contemporaries or later generations---if either.

  • I try to be the best that I can be and to help as many as I can while I'm alive in hopes that they will pay it forward to others. However, when all is said and done, it won't matter to me if I'm famous when I'm alive and forgotten when I die or unknown when I'm alive but famous after I die. Mainly because I'll be dead and won't know it anyhow. The present is what's important.
