We are told "everyone deserves a good defense". That includes crumbums and scum. How do lawyers justifying defending them?

Get them off so they can go out and continue  doing what they do. Screw the public. Bring harm to them. Get away with bad behavior repeatedly. As long as they have the money they can buy the best defense at the expense of public safety. What a lousy system.
