When I used to work in an office, we would just pull practical jokes on the real a$$holes that created problems.  Okay, yeah, I admit it.  I was the only one who did that to them.  lol.  But, in my defense, it made everyone laugh.  Okay.  Not a good defense.  But, I had fun.

Sure.  I could hit this one secretary in my group with a brick.  Maybe I'll do that just before I retire completely.

I cannot tell you how BADLY these people are at resolving conflict in my place of business.  It is all he-said, she-said type of nonsense-- by the time it gets in front of the Manager, being passed to a Lead therapist first; and the Lead has to figure out who she likes the most, who she is friends with, who will hate her guts and who will get her in trouble-- before it gets homogenized enough for the manager to hear what happened.

I'll give you a ludicrous example.

I was/am still new at this job.  I am a massage therapist as you know.  One of our side-tasks is making sure we have the linens necessary in the hallway cabinet.  We have to make sure the cabinet is relatively neat so as not to offend any passer's-by on their way down the hall to get their massage.  They can see the linens if the door is open.  That is about the size of it.  Keep the linen cabinet relatively neat and clean and make sure the stuff is folded nicely.  NOT Millitary.  We don't have to pass INSPECTION for god'sake. NICELY.  Just make it look okay.

Well, I walk into the break room, pick up towels, put them into the cabinet and behind me is the spa-back (underling who has not even graduated yet) breathing heavily because she has some kind of ADHD.  It seems I did not fold the towels the way she wanted.

So, she goes behind me and when I am done putting them away, she takes them out and re-does them.   For no reason.  Because that is the way she thinks towels should go.    Some people are just looking for trouble.

I very sweetly waited until we got back in the break room.  I told her that if she wanted to do the towels, just tell me and I won't fold them for her.  She storms out of the break room, tells her good buddy, another massage therapist, that I am treating her badly,  and by the time I got out of work, the story was that there was a big fight in the break room, everyone could hear it and I need to KEEP IT DOWN.  (???)  WHAT???

Seriously?  I had to explain this the next day to my boss.  I still want to know how the heck I could have prevented this nonsense.  We just happened to have a meeting the next day and this subject came up.  This is just so insane.  My boss told everyone in the meeting to chill and just make sure everything is neat and orderly.

By the time the meeting was over, these idiots were whispering about the towels STILL and how they need to be folded.  Everyone had a different idea.  It just never ends.  Not because of the stupid towels.  Because they do not understand that WORDS MATTER and thoughts are used to define an idea.

Gossip and nonsense.  That is the way of the working commune where I work. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at October 12, 2017 1:14 PM MDT

It's why I pulled practical jokes.  There isn't anything upper mgmt will do and the people who are issues, can't be reasoned with.  So, f*ck 'em.  Pull practical jokes that aren't hurtful and are tailored made to fit the person.

(((((Sis, ya want I should take care of her for you?  Just Asking still has the rubber gloves, a shovel and half a bag of lime in the trunk of her car, and I'm sure Element 99, Harry and Lryical will provide the "we-were-playing-poker-until-the-late-hours" alibi for me whilst I drive out to the county line . . . )))))
