    There's a law in Australia that if you buy cabbage from the Coles supermarket chain, you're legally required to purchase carrots and mayonnaise as well.

    I love cabbage and cook it regularly.  I have heard that it causes gas i n some people, but it doesn't have that effect on me.

    I don't eat it raw so I've always assumed the coleslaw eaters are the ones making the gas claim.

    (Yes, it does work to take the firecrackers out of cabbage and beans.)

    I don't know if it gives me gas that much, but it does clean me out pretty good.
    It is a good laxative for me.
