When a man puts a woman in a XXX film it is exploitation but when the woman sleeps with the man for the lead role

Making a living.

I thought Vin Diesel was the lead in those movies.

But what if a woman puts a woman in an XXX film? How is that any different? Lots of ex porn actresses are now at the production level.

If XXX means hard core sexually explicit pornography, and if exploitation means treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work, then it's the exact circumstances of the filming that makes the difference. Is the woman legally an adult? Is she free of all drugs? Has she been captured, threatened or harmed? Has she been offered a written contract with fair working conditions? Have the conditions been met?

In the more general sense, feminists do not agree with the making of pornographic films because they can encourage immature, inexperienced and ignorant men to see a woman as a potential object of sexual gratification (rather than as a full human being with needs, wishes and preferences which are usually not the same as his.) It can put ideas in some men's heads which many women may find extremely unwelcome.

If an actress cannot get an acting role unless she copulates with the director, then she can't be the best talent and she'd be far better off in another job. 

If the director and the film-script hasn't attracted  the best actress for the film, then he's not making the best film and he's jeopardising the investor's money.
If the director can't get sex unless he offers an acting role, he'd do better work as a film maker if he compartmentalised his needs. He can always go to a whorehouse for sex.

If we're talking about Weinstein, his entire personality and behaviour is repugnant. 

But if two consenting adults feel attracted to each other, and there are no other negative factors, then there's no reason why they shouldn't enjoy one another. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 16, 2017 4:25 AM MDT

When a man puts a woman in a xxx film, that is sex slavery.  Unless she is putting herself in that film, he is committing a crime.

If she sleeps with the head of a film company, the only crime she is committing is against herself.
