RED/jealousy. GREEN/envy. YELLOW/cowardly. BLACK/evil. WHITE/purity. How did colors come to represent human emotions/beliefs?

Rainbows represent the LGBTQ community. When you're "blue" you're down in the dumps. I think there are political groups abroad in which ORANGE is involved. I'm not sure. CHARTREUSE combines green and yellow so that would be the color of an envious coward.  Right? Pink is used to represent breast cancer and October is breast cancer awareness month. They give out little pink ribbon pins. I wonder why pink? Purple is the color of Royalty. And so it goes.

I thought red was hostility. Jealous and envy are pretty much the same so they both get green. Anyway, different cultures have different color associations so it depends on where you are.
