IF freedom of religion is one of the defining RIGHTS of Americans why do some folks think the only true Americans are White Christians?
There are Muslim Americans, Jewish Americans, Buddhist Americans, Americans who are Atheists and probably dozens of others sets, subsets. There are Americans who are Scientologists. All equally LEGALLY Americans aren't they?
Freedom of religion is freedom from persecution not from criticism. The right to criticize whatever you feel like criticizing is the other half of the first amendment.
Some religions advocate values that are diametrically opposed to the foundational principles of western civilization. Subversive religions must be opposed or our civilization will collapse. That doesn't require taking anyone's freedom, just open debate that isn't stifled by political correctness. Enlightened ideas always win out in the long term, so long as there is freedom of expression.
