I live surrounded by flowers and I have animals in my life whenever possible. So, while I do appreciate living and being alive NOW, I could not imagine what my mind would do with the unhealthy wish to live forever. I think the vampire archetype displays that desire to perfection. The vampire is just living out lust and greed and addiction to the life force, and all desires for the life force have long ago ceased to matter, yet the vampire must go on anyway.
Forever? What worse hell is that? After a few thousand years of the same old earth plane? You cannot even commit suicide. All because of a desire that is based on fear of death, a passage everyone must walk.
