IT'S ONLY ANNOYING WHEN PEOPLE ABUSE IT.
This question is the first time I have used it deliberately, and even that was only for a joke. I often touch that dreaded button by accident and when that happens it annoys the heck out of me. If it was possible to permanently disable it, I wouldn't have any problem with touching it accidentally. How can I permanently disable it and save myself such annoyance in future?

Brackets aren't useless, grilledcheesegirl. If I want to type (for example) the title of a song which has words in brackets in it, I will jolly well type it with the brackets in it. When I type something I insist that it must be correct. Lol:)
