Could we not have satellites orbiting the moon?

    We placed a vehicle in lunar orbit during the moon missions.  So we could, but I don't know if we have done it yet.

    It's certainly possible, but so far the moon missions' vehicles that Tom Jackson cites have been the only ones to have orbited it for a reasonable length of time.
