I'd like to see someone take Congress by the nape of the neck and shake them until their heads rolled off their shoulders. Those people are living in their own fantasy land detached from reality. Somebody, and I care not who, needs to instill some real fear into those complacent n'er do wells. Since Congress, the exclusive little club that they are, refuse to do anything worth mentioning, the courts have tried to legislate from the bench and that has to stop. The branches of government will never be EQUAL again until somebody reminds them of their individual job descriptions.
You hit the nail on the head. However, part of the problem is the apathy of the voters. We have probably one of the lowest voting turnouts in the Western World. The way things are set up, the odds of getting good candidates for office are against the voter. Campaign finance laws need to be changed so that good people without the name recognition of the charlatans in office have the funds to run. Corporations and wealthy individuals should not be permitted to buy elections and there needs to be term limits. I dare say there is hardly a politician who walks away from office with less personal wealth than when they were first elected. Jeff Flake, irrespective of what you may think of his political record, was 100% right in his speech to Congress last week.
