Banning a native-born citizen who was educated by the nation that wants to ban him is a major admission of national incompetence. You just don't do that.

Obstruction doesn't bring exile or banishment as a penalty. The two charges mentioned aren't necessarily connected, nor are they one and the same. Federal prosecutors are famous for choosing the cases they prosecute. In street vernacular, they like to pick their fights. They don't go to court to lose. When it comes to treason, most won't go there because it's too difficult to prove. And that my friend has been the case in this country since the Civil War. If ever there were to be convictions for treason, it would have been at that time. We're not in a country where people get thrown into some gulag on somebody's twisted idea of treason.
