    Go to your profile page.  Click on Settings.  Click on Privacy and the first thing that comes up for me is the question of whether you want to be seen online.  It should be unchecked.  See if that works.

    No, you don't. 
    Go to Settings 
    Privacy
    Make sure to uncheck the first box.
