    There is no need for whale sperm to be bigger than ours. All sperm cells need to contain is one half of each chromosome, that is all the egg need to start growing.

    Yes, it was.  Not that I expected biological size to vary that much, but I was totally unprepared for the reality. 

    Of course, it was not something that I had been pondering for years.  lol

    But now I do wonder about the volume of the "ejaculate" and the number of sperm contained therein.

    (Damn---now you have got me interested in the cow's (whale) physiology to have a more complete, useful understanding of the whole thing.)
