    It's all about the subject of a verb or preposition. The way I learned it is that if who/whom can be replaced by he or she, then who is correct - "who thought" - and if who/whom can be replaced by him/her, then whom is used - "I wonder if it will be her (or someone else)" or "I wonder whom."
