Well what I have to offer probably won't be original, but it's true.

WRITE EVERY DAY (as someone already said!!)
whether you feel like it or not, WRITE...even if it's one page.........

Observe everything around you for ideas, unless you already have one or more.....

    write what you feel......

set it aside for a day or two.

then go back and read it again.

then EDIT EDIT EDIT ................let's face it, no one writes anything decent without its ever having to be read and re-read and edited & edited again...even me!  LOL..,,,you already know this, but it's always worth repeating.......

and best of all, one of my very favorite philosophies of 'life' that I've lived with since my 20's and I'm 75 now......:

NO MATTER WHAT YOUR GOAL IS........
    ACT AS IF
    ACT AS IF
    YOU'VE ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED IT.
    IN YOUR MIND!!

DO YOU KNOW HOW YOU'LL FEEL WHEN YOU FINISH YOUR WRITING PROJECT?
    ELATED, EXCITED, PLEASED WITH YOURSELF.

    WELLLLLLLLLL..........

    FEEL THAT WAY NOW!!

SAVOR THE FEELINGS; MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY........

HOLDING THE FINISHED PRODUCT IN YOUR HAND, ETC..

    ANOTHER THOUGHT:

ALWAYS KEEP THE END RESULT IN MIND.

THIS GOES ALONG WITH THE 'ACT AS IF'.....SORTA HAND IN GLOVE, SO TO SPEAK.

if you do both these things, they will get you over the rough spots...

but DO try to make them a part of your life, everyday!!!!!!!!!

    and now I"ll close.

sorry for all the caps but I get a little carried away sometime!!!

    best wishes to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :-D

As a creative writer, formal training can provide you skills for a number of jobs and create possibilties for others. Courses at the master's level can prepare you to choose from fields as these:
    1. Poetry
    2. Fiction
    3. Creative non-fiction
    4. Children's books
    5. Biographies/ memoires/ profiles
    6. Literary journalism
    7. Play or screen writing
    8. Travel/ Nature/ Science

These are just a few suggestions. Every field of advertising uses creative writers. The internet has also many opportunities open for creative writers:

    1. Texts for web sites
    2. Electronic newspapers or magazines
    3. Short fiction
    4. Provide technical documentation only available online.
    5. Combine text with graphics, audio, video, and 3D animation.

if it's in your heart that that's what you want to do, just DO IT!!!

many of the other replies here are excellent....take them to heart!!!!

most importantly, though, is having the DISCIPLINE to do it every day, every day, every day.......

if you don't 'feel like it'.,...DO IT ANYWAY......EVEN IF JUST FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

and another important thing;; ACT AS IF......

I've used this for years now (I'm 75) and it works.

    it goes like this:

you know how you'll feel when you finally get thru a project? or get published? that type of thing?

    well, of course you do!!

    SO..........ACT THAT WAY NOW!!!!!!!

and that, along with your desire and discipline (gee, never liked that word! lol) will get you thru it.

another thing is, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR MIND ON THE END RESULT...........

ALSO have done that in my life!! it also works!!!!!!!!!!

also, read the masters, the classics.........become familiar with them and their lives and struggles and their writing styles!!!

you MUST be well-rounded and educated in these things....

learn new things..........even outside your 'comfort zone'........ANY good writer always has/had a wide range of experiences.........

so now YOU become like that!!!!!!!!!!!

well I better close now........I DO tend to ramble.. lol.

but best of luck to you......

    keep at it
    keep at it
    keep at it...

and always think of only the best that will come  your way thru your efforts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    best wishes!!!!
