Republican Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell says "I believe the women accusing Roy Moore". Do you?

  • This should be played out in the courts, not in the office of the Senate Majority Leader. Ole Mitch's opinion and a dollar bill will get you a cup of coffee anywhere. That's the weight I place on his opinion.

When there is more than one accuser, I have to go on the side of the accusers AFTER it has been dealt with in a court of law.  I believe that in this case the law will be on the side of the accusers.  When there is a pig in power with money and an ugly body, the accused is usually guilty. But as I said to Rosie (below), none of us on here have enough info to make a fair, unbiased judgment. Some folks - Trumpian Zeitgeist and my2cents come to mind - want it not to be true, and others, such as you and Rosie, desperately want it to be true. People tend to believe whatever they read that confirms their bias and desire. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at November 13, 2017 10:07 PM MST

Many millions of people don't give a sh** about it Shar. They elected someone prez who admitted/bragged about grabbing women by the genitals for goodness sakes! The Alabama Republicans who stand by Moore say they would rather vote for a pedophile (in case he is)  than a Democrat. So with that mindset none of it matters. The weird thing is that the Evangelicals who used to be proponents of morality have now embraced the scumbums and look the other way or pretend none of it has happened. Why? God only knows! It is a travesty and  blasphemous but there it is! Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)

True enough, Rosie, but none of that changes the fact that none of us has enough info to make an informed call on this. And that's what the question is about.

He seems to be a cretin to begin with; but more importantly, why do you expect a man who when in his 30's dated a 14 year old girl, to exercise any better judgment as a US Senator?

None of us on here have enough info to make a fair judgment. Those who wish it to be true, such as you and Shar, will choose to believe whatever you read that confirms your desire.

Then why did you bother answering the question?

  • Name calling and attacks is all they have left because they've been stripped of any sound practical judgment. When they sit in front of the television or radio hanging on every word and lie that the liberal media vomits out, you can't expect anything different.

I disagree with thee absolutely and unequivocally! Republicans need to speak up, stand up, and withdraw any support for pedophile weirdo Roy Moore. McConnell is the Senate Majority Leader. He should go on record with what he thinks as should Paul Ryan, the House Majority Speaker. They should condemn not condone. OUT LOUD! Just my opinion. Thank you for yours and Happy Tuesday.

  • In the world of politics I personally find it quite difficult to commit to the use of the words "believe" and "trust". Actions speak louder than words. Which is why we should wait for all of the evidence to be presented before making a call.

I said that because your last comment was the most logical in this string - with, of course, the possible exception of mine! LOL.
