Living with Grumpy is a boring chore. Some folks wake up grumpy and stay that way till they have coffee/cigarettes/whatever. You?
Even then some folks remain grumpy the entire day. Imagine how much FUN they are to be around? I haven't figured out yet what makes someone a predictably miserable grump and what makes someone a predictably sunshiny happy gal/guy. Have you?
My daughter's fiancé has a daughter by a previous relationship. She's seven. She already has a Grandpa and a Pop, so she calls me ... Grumpy. I'm pretty sure it's going to stick, all my grandchildren will probably call me that.
Well Grumpy folks can be endearing as he**! I worked for a very grumpy elderly architect once years ago. He was such a softie inside I giggled quietly when he would chew me out! We had a lot going on one week so I left work at my usual time..went home..fixed dinner and I ate and then I went back to work about 7pm and stayed a couple of hours just to get a head start on the next day's work. I was there all alone but the door was locked and I was fine. I locked up, went home and the next morning when I came in he gave me he**! He yelled at me and read me the riot act about being here alone and what might have happened to me if someone broke in or someone could have mugged me going in or going out. He was really furious but I knew why. He was kinda a grandfatherly grump most of the time and he made me PROMISE I would never ever do that again. I was never sure how he knew. His wife who was his bookkeeper might have noticed that we started the day ahead of where we had left off the day before and figured it out. The other girls didn't have a key. Only my boss, his wife, his son(who was also an architect), the head Architect and me. So I guess she snitched! Anyway I kept my word. Of course my ex was a major grump for an hour or two every morning until his human self showed up. I just ignored him! :)

I imagine they are unhappy with their lot in life or angry with the world. No I am up jogging at 5 and out to work by 7:15 after making breakfast and lunch for my husband.
