There's not just "one kind" of woman who makes either of those two decisions; staying and/or continuing to love such a man. Various women, or more accurately, various kinds of women for various reasons do it. They cannot be lumped into a single category, can't be pigeon-holed, can't be generalized the way your question puts it.
