Do you feel a more painful emotion seeing pictures of abused animals more so than human suffering? Why?

I quickly turn the channel at any story and or pictures of animal abuse. I also quickly "x" out the ads posted here, in hopes they will eventually stop.

I don't get those ads, but if you do and they don't stop, please take a screenshot and email it to me. I will block the advertiser.

I'm like you; I change the channel when those ads are on television. The majority of ads wherein the producer wants that tear-jerker effect get the exact opposite reaction from me, utter apathy.
(And why do those commercials have to be so long???????)

I am the same. I cannot watch animal abuse. To me they are just innocent child like angels that have no voice. They are born into this world and are either neglected or tortured, eaten or starved. It's a total holocaust for farm animals here, and I feel terrible remorse for it. I no longer eat meat because I cannot justify farming them to slaughter and kill. I am sure God loves them and they are at peace when dead. But their short lives on earth with us can be appalling and the stuff of nightmares- we turn a blind eye and continue to eat them and think we are good people. ha to that idea.

    Yes.

They are helpless.  I cannot take children either.  But adults I am used to.  Sick, I know.

Wow, I can relate.  It does trigger something very deep in me.  I just see animals as complete innocents and feel outright rage at anyone that causes them suffering.

  • Yeah, I find it too difficult too.

My reactions to images of human suffering vary - the more helpless the victim, the more strongly I feel it.

With images of animal suffering, part of what makes it so hard is when they are powerless and humans are the cause.

I feel both distress and anger.

Will stop just long enough to read the facts and sign the petition.

Yes, I'm "ok" with the adults because they are adults I guess...nonsensical, I know

Yes. Because a animal cant tell anyone how much there hurting and get help.

Animal abuse makes me really mad and then I'm balling my eyes out.

I've rescued animals.. others wouldn't help.. so me and mom did it all.. we couldn't turn our backs on these innocent baby animals.

I should add I was allergic to the animals we rescued.. and I got very ill with my asthma.. the doctors told me to kick them out because they could kill me... I said.. HELL NO..if I do that they will all die.  I never took the doctors advice. :)
