It just kind of fogs. But you must us tongs or something to put it in your glass. And must still be careful not to toich it with your lips etc while drinking. As it can freeze your skin instantly.
I had a teacher do this in Jr high, but he grabbed the wrong beaker and drank hydrochloric acid by mistake. He burnt his esophagus.
