Do you "keep your eyes on your own plate" or are you always looking around taking things from others' plates without permission? Why?

I have my own refrigerator.  Why would I snag food from a plate?

Especially one I gave to another?  And in a restaurant?   That is the choice of the people at the table whether they want to share something or not. 

Otherwise, it is just obnoxious.
