Do you use yourself as a template for how others are or should be? Do you see your limitations/strengths as being true for others too? Why?

    I believe that humans find it easiest to relate to people who think similarly. That's why we choose friends who are much like ourselves. 

    I try to see people's strengths, rather than focus on their shortcomings. I'd say that the opposite is true of how I see myself. I am well versed in my own flaws and weaknesses, and I don't cut myself nearly as many breaks as I do others. I suppose I do have more empathy for people whose shortcomings match my own, though. And, I'd say that my harshest criticism is saved for those who demonstrate a lack of compassion and empathy for others. I've little patience for people who view others with judgment rather than compassion.
