The Donald John decides to move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and that makes Jerusalem the Capital? Why?

As the Donald John goes so goeds the world? Why? What is he, whom is he, why is he an arbiter of what is/is not for other counries? Isn't what he has done to America bad enough? Must he seek to involve himself in other countries so he can promulgate hate, division, chaos everywhere he does? What is his game? World domination? Why does he suck up to Netanyahu?  I don't get it!

  • One:  Changing the location of an embassy doesn't change the actual capitol.  Only Israel can really change it's capitol.

Two:  I suppose when Israel is funded by the US tax payer in what amounts to international regime welfare money,  you do what the that nation  tells you to. If Israel changes it's capitol on what ANY American President wants then it's all because they are afraid of having to pay their own way.

Israel has always declared Jerusalem to be its capital but the world until now has refused to recognize the fact.

  • I know.I don't really care one way or the other to be honest.  Israel can go to hell for all I care.   They cause nothing but trouble and have us and others pay their bills.
The Arabs can go to hell too if they think they get to push the world around with their temper tantrums and chit culture.
I'm getting sick of all three of the Abrahamic religions to be honest.  It's getting to the point that the history contained in Jersusalem isn't even worth the BS it inflicts on the world.

    Sorry, you feel that way.
Israel helps us much more than most people know.

  • How?  By taking our tax dollars and using to piss the entire Middle East off and inspire terrorism that we have to worry about?
Seriously?   I'm asking truthfully WTF they do that is so great?    All the problems we face in the Middle East these days stems from the handing over of land to Israel and giving them unwavering support and never saying boo to them.
Don't get me wrong I'm no fan of the competing culture either.  But both are pure crap IMHO.  I mean I get it.  For some they have to support it because of their religious faith and all that stuff.  Outside of that though there is no reason we send them billions of our tax dollars and get into wars and have terrorist focus on us because of them.

The Middle East has been steadily regressing and devolving into religious identity to become less and less stable since Israel.  So how can Israel be a stabilizing force when  the Middle East used to be MORE stable and moving towards more awakened ways?

Most of our military tech comes from them. They give us intelligence.
We did not give them land. The UN did also gave Palestine land as well. (It was never a land of it own before)
When was the Middle East stable?

  • THe Middle East was much more modernized and stable going back to before WW2 and post WW2.  Was it perfect?  No, but things were much better than it has gotten.  The Middle East was modernizing and Westernizing at a steady pace before Israel brought a culture war to fight foreigners trying to politic the place and take land to crate a new nation.

Most of OUR military tech?   No, no...  No,no.  Other than a few Uzi's in Vietnam and the early 80's most of THEIR technology comes from us.    Besides, even if that was true,  being a rogue nation of arms dealers isn't a good ally or friend.  We work together to create new military tech, sure.  Yet that's because we have to deal with all the friggin people THEY piss off and bully.   We need to fund and work to develope tech to fight the enemies THEY made for us.  How does that make any sense?  They are that loudmouth friend who starts fights with other people and then has you fight it out for them and then asks for you pay their bartab.   That's not a good friend.

Seems to me that the religious leaders advising Trump have convinced him that Jerusalem still has a sacred significance, and is special in God's eyes.

It does have much sacred significance. There is a very holy place there where Christian, Muslim and Jew worship together.  I think Trump is a pompous A** who  is bad enough harming America. Now he seeks to extend his influence to the rest of the world. I think he is a current danger and I pray he is stopped by legal means. Thank you for your reply Autumn! :)

"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent to her--how often I wanted to gather your children together the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings! But you did not want it. Look! Your house is abandoned to you. (Matthew 23:37,38) though many believe Jerusalem is still a city that has God's blessing, this city along with most of its inhabitants were guilty of bloodshed by murdering God's beloved son. The fact that Mr. Trump recognized Jerusalem as capital of Israel is of no consequence to God Almighty in the heavens.

I'm sure that's true m'dear but it is causing great havoc among the humans who do care. I read that riots are going on in the middle east because of it and that more and bigger and uglier are expected today. Did anyone think the Muslims would take this assault and insult lying down? Well if they did now they know they didn't know anything. They praise whatever the Donald John does/says no matter how harmful and evil and irrational. Thank you for your reply! :)

The point Rosie is that if Jerusalem were truly the sacred place many claim it to be and it had Jehovah's approval and blessing, it would not have the problems it is experiencing. Thousands of years ago when Jerusalem was the center of worship for the true God, they enjoyed his protection. Only when they rebelled would they experience the problems similar to the ones of today. They rejected God's son, and still do to this day. The Jerusalem where Jesus Christ will reign from is not the literal, rebellious, and religiously divided earthly Jerusalem, but rather the Jerusalem from above. (Galatians 4:26)

Jerusalem is God's favorite place in the world and where Jesus will reign and rule from when He returns.

I don't think so anymore. Warning after warning, in the end, the majority did not listen. Isn't there an Islamic Mosque in the vicinity where the Temple used to be?

Just as renegade Israel of the past sometimes relied on Egypt and Syria and their military might instead of Jehovah, Israel of today rely's on the US and their military might.

(Isaiah 30:2) They go down to Egypt without consulting me, To take shelter under Pharʹaoh’s protection And to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!
(Isaiah 31:1) Woe to those who go down to Egypt for assistance, Who rely on horses, Who trust in war chariots because they are numerous, And in warhorses because they are mighty. But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, And they do not search for Jehovah.
(2 Chronicles 16:7) At that time Ha·naʹni the seer came to King Aʹsa of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Syria and did not rely on Jehovah your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.
(Jeremiah 17:5) This is what Jehovah says: “Cursed is the man who puts his trust in mere humans, Who relies on human power, And whose heart turns away from Jehovah.

(1 Kings 9:7, 8) I will cut Israel off from the surface of the land that I have given to them, and the house that I have sanctified for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become an object of scorn and a cause for ridicule among all the peoples. 8 And this house will become heaps of ruins. Everyone passing by it will stare in amazement and will whistle and say, ‘Why did Jehovah do that to this land and this house?’
(Jeremiah 12:7) “I have abandoned my house; I have deserted my inheritance. I have given my dearly beloved one into the hand of her enemies.
(Jeremiah 22:5) “‘But if you will not obey these words, by myself I do swear,’ declares Jehovah, ‘that this house will become a devastated place.’
(Matthew 21:43) This is why I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.
(Luke 21:20) “However, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near.

(Matthew 23:37, 38) “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent to her—how often I wanted to gather your children together the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings! But you did not want it. 38 Look! Your house is abandoned to you.

(Acts 10:34, 35) At this Peter began to speak, and he said: “Now I truly understand that God is not partial, 35 but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.

Israel has claimed Jerusalem as its Capital since 1950 and it has in fact been the seat of Government for most purposes since this time.

Riots were occurring yesterday in the middle east and more are expected today. The Donald John has no clue about anything. He isn't smart enough to understand the consequences of his actions He is like a baby who wants what he wants NOW. Did he really think the Muslims would take this insulting assault without reacting to it? What a supercilious dumbhead. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)

The governing authority of a state determines where its capital is located, regardless of foreign acknowledgement.  Israel long ago declared Jerusalem the capital.

In 1995 Congress overwhelmingly acknowledged this (only 42 between both houses voting against) by passing a law, despite Clinton’s refusal to sign, requiring our embassy be moved to Jerusalem.  A provision in the bill allows for the president to delay the move by 6-month increments should it present a danger to our national security.  Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump have signed that waiver every six months since the bill became law...the most recent waiver being signed the 6th of this month following Trump's announcement.
