I think it was good exercise for my immune system.

I didn't eat that stuff.  I used worms as bait for fishing.  Bugs I just watched, sometimes captured to examine.

I used to like seeing what different bugs tasted like.

Did you find any differences worth noting?  I'm very interested in hearing about that since I didn't do it myself.

Can't remember that well but I liked potato bugs a lot, kind of spicey and they were big and juicy -lots of them too because we grew our own potatoes.
I don't eat bugs anymore except for spiders that  crawl into my mouth during the night.

I would make the cat eat one first.

Someone in my family tree was said to have eaten dirt. Musta been a mineral deficiency.

Exactly.  When you are craving weird things, that is often the case.

I never ate them, I just liked watching them. Antlions were my favorite. I remember at recess I mostly just sat by my tree and watched the antlions attacking poor little ants that fell into their trap. Sometimes I captured the antlions and watched it try to burrow in my hand, it kind of tickled. Then I would put it back and watch it vanish into the sand. I liked the way they moved, quite fascinating little bugs.

I was brought up to think bugs were repulsive, until I grew a brain and a conscience, and realized they were living creatures that might actually TASTE good.

I could never think of eating a bug without thinking I was being tortured in some way.

Now, I think many bugs could contribute to staving off world hunger.  They are abundant, free and many, I'm sure are JUST AS TASTY as a bloody muscle that is sold for 50 bucks as prime rib. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at December 9, 2017 1:09 PM MST

Insect burgers could be a thing that becomes popular someday.
