Why do my old notifications keep re-appearing even after I delete them?

This site seems to be loading slower than usual ... to me anyway.

I've been having a lot of trouble with this site.  Definitely noticed the notifications not clearing the past couple of days.  The slow loading & timing out have been a constant since this summer.

The dev was supposed to be on today/ tomorrow to make some changes. If this is a new issue, it could be related to that.

As far as other issues go, I'd suggest reporting them. Sometimes, we have little one-off blips that don't indicate a bigger problem, but when they're ongoing/ wide-spread,I need to get the dev on to look. So, please use the report or feedback button for those- it helps me get a clearer picture of who is experiencing what and what the scope of issues are.

It's miserable.  Please report it.  It drives me nuts.  AND, it's not new; it's been like this forever.
