Because it is nonsense.
Oh yeah. There's a date. The end of days is a period. It probably is happening right now before your eyes. The date encompasses this Century not a DAY.
Acts 1:7 He replied, "The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.
A century? Where is that written
Sharonna? Thank you for your reply.
I think it's like crying wolf. After awhile you tune it out and pay no attention

That is true RosieG. There is a set day but just like the end of the Jewish system of things, no man knows the exact day but we do know the season.
(Acts 17:31) Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead.”
(Matthew 24:32, 33) “Now learn this illustration from the fig tree: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and sprouts its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 Likewise also you, when you see all these things, know that he is near at the doors.
(Romans 13:11) And do this because you know the season, that it is already the hour for you to awake from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than at the time when we became believers.
(Mark 13:32, 33) “Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father. 33 Keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is.
(2 Peter 3:9, 10) Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 10 But Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed.

11 Unlike the wicked world around us, we must keep in mind the admonition recorded by the prophet Habakkuk: “The vision is yet for the appointed time, and it keeps panting on to the end, and it will not tell a lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it; for it will without fail come true. It will not be late.” (Habakkuk 2:3) Even if that day may appear to delay from our imperfect viewpoint, we must remember that Jehovah is not slow. His day will come exactly on time, at an hour that humans do not expect.—Mark 13:33;2 Peter 3:9, 10.

RosieG, ya gotta remember, it's not God or the Bible crying wolf, for the most part I think that it's imperfect men trying to understand Bible prophecy.
Imperfect men in Bible times sometimes looked forward to the fulfillment of prophecy ahead of God’s timetable. (Luke 19:11; Acts 1:6; 2 Thessalonians 2:1, 2)
