Why is gin more of a depressant than other spirits of the same strength?

    I didnt know gin was made from juniper berries. Cool. Maybe you should try Potato Juice. I hear Vodka is uplifting.

    Clear spirits are lees harmful than the likes of Whisky   ,Brandy and Rum ....they have no tannins in them and it's the tannings in them that help make them depressing.....plus the fact that once you've drunk the whole bottle and you're desperate for more.....:(o This post was edited by Nice Jugs at December 23, 2017 3:52 PM MST

  • I haven't found that to be the case, but I love gin. It's probably my favorite alcohol. I can taste the juniper in good gin.

    All Brits are depressed anyway, and since they drink more gin than other spirits it just seems like it is more depressing.
