Oooh interesting question... hopefully a surprising answer from me.. or at least vaguely interesting :P I think that yes, I can be persuaded.. have been, will be again.. IF what I am hearing makes sense and is supported by sane, reasoned debate and factual information. I have been known to change my opinion based on new information. And I think that's right.. it isn't exactly in the absence of other evidence or finding out for myself.. as mainly I reached the original opinion having read, researched or experienced the subject.. but it can be revised in the light of new perspective
Perhaps my understanding of "persuaded" and yours are not quite the same m'dear. Having access to info you didn't have before makes you "informed". What you do with that info is all on you. For me "persuaded" means being talked into something by someone. Not necessarily badgered into it but consistent "convincing" so that you now buy what is being sold. No one persuades me or convinces me to do anything. I figure it out for myself. I do appreciate being given information of which I was unaware. Sometimes it is meaningful and enlightening and sometimes it's useless. But I really dislike folks who keep at you to "convince" you to change your mind. That never works with me. I have to have time to think it through and if I can integrate it into what I think in some way that makes sense I do. For me it's very simple. If it makes sense I buy it. If it doesn't I question it and may or may not buy it. That's why I ask so many questions. There's so much that people promulgate that makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Now sometimes it's the fault of my lack of comprehension. Sometimes it's just mindless crap that people believe because someone they adore/admire/worship says it's so. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Addb! :)
