If you were to adopt a child, would you prefer a girl or a boy? Why?

When my kids get a little older and life settles down, I'd really like to be a foster parent. It's not adoption and my home probably won't be the child's forever home, but I'd love to help out in that capacity. I don't care about the child's gender. Hopefully the child who needs a safe place the most will wind up with me. That's all I care about. 

This is an interesting question. My wife and I only have sons, and she has remarked many times over the years that she would like (or would have liked) to adopt a baby girl. She envisioned all that that would encompass, and especially dear to her heart was dressing her up in cute little clothes, doing her hair, going shopping together, bonding with her, bringing her up to be a quality young lady, etc.
