Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» The bifurcated world is split between the RULING class and the WORKING class. To which class do you relate to most and why?
I love the working class, that is precisely why I do not "google" things unless necessary. Google is another corporation probably run, by old white people, as most are. Let me know if you find a picture please. We the people have more power in running the world than we like to think, we just don't want to take blame for things gone wrong, so it is better we blame the rich. For example, what do you think would happen to Google or to Coca-Cola if we the people went a month without using or buying their product? We have the power to vote to really make a difference with our wallets. I applaud the few who came to this small site, being privately owned, as opposed to going to yet another corporate site. As Jimmy Carter stated on Oprah Winfrey, We are now living in an Oligarchy. The Ruling class you speak of has that authority because we continue year after year to give them our dollars... and I don't think anyone really believes corporate America does not run the government to a significant degree, at least to a much higher degree than we the people do.
Well m'dear before the internet was born did you ever go to a library to research anything? All of the information was gathered there in books and all it took was for you to get off your duff, get in the car, drive over there and spend hours doing your research. Now you have all the great libraries of the world in your own home where you can research anything you want at any hour of the day or night. The information is the same. Accessing it is the only difference. So you would prefer to not Google because it is a corporation owned by old white rich men ? Are you being serious here or are you simply teasing me Weylon? I refer to the dictionary lot. What do you do when you want to check the spelling of a word or the meaning? I have an unabridged dictionary open on a separate table near the computer because I look things up dozens of times each day and so does Jim and we got tired of setting the dictionary up and putting it away daily. I don't BUY anything from the internet. I prefer hands-on examination. I don't want to be bothered having to return a defective something via mail. Have to pack the dam* think up, pay to get it sent and hope you will get your money back. OR you go the store directly and stand there and return it and get your money back. That works faster and better for me. Well Googling works better and faster for me. The good thing is that all the old white folks will be dying out. The voting strength now is the 18-34 year olds. So the things that old rich white men vote for will no longer be on the table . There are people like Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates et al who are billionaires and spend their billions on things to help other people. Gates and the others who number over 100 people are billionaires and all have pledged to give most of their fortunse away to charities and are living that goal right now . Not all very wealthy folks are greedy bas**rds you know. I blame all the wealthy Republicans who funded campaigns and threatened to pull that money futurely if they didn't get a huge tax cut. They got their "cut cut cut" and so the pols will breathe easy. It is at the expense of the working poor, the old, the ill, the frail. They are expendable. The whores in politics care only that their johns keep supporting them and they would sell their own mothers and daughters into slavery before they would give up their wealthy benefactors. That's where the problem lies. Not with the wealthy bas**rds but with the whores who service them...the politicians. Thank you for your reply Weylon! :)
Thank you for your thoughtful reply Rosie. All the information was gathered there at the library by who? The elite class have in the past controlled and to my amazement still have a stronghold on the information we receive. Encyclopedia Britannic, Merriam-Webster and Wikipedia for starters are all corporately owned and are perfectly acceptable sources for university work, yet if one-lifelong scientist, doctor or whatever writes a book that does not correspond with corporate theory, they are called a quack or worse and should not be cited. Don't get me wrong, I do not want to sound like a Democrat and if you ask me Democrats and Republicans are two worthless sides of the same coin, I very much believe in free-market capitalism, but it cannot exist when the gigantic corporations can lie to us, force smaller businesses out by any means necessary and generally just do not play by the same rules. A small company cannot line the pockets enough to pull the puppet strings. There are some very noble wealthy people perhaps, I got too bored looking at where the money trails go too and from, just lost interest. I think it is a crying shame that St. Jude's Medical Research is a fortune 500 company...I mean really, who in there right minds buys stock in such a thing and hopes it goes up? No, I'm not teasing I do try and not use huge companies for anything if there is another choice, of course I use Google sometimes because they have the best search engine but it wasn't always that way. I personally think Jimmy Carter was possibly the most moral president we ever had but he was very ineffective and he has spent his life trying to make up for it. I understand people like you have been devout to one party or another over the years, and I never want anything I say to seem like a personal attack. I myself would like to stand before God being so sure that I am right. The truth is I don't know much of anything, I just like to babble. Thankfully God knows my heart. One belief is mostly persistent for me, and that is we should all help one another...it comes with a but though, we stop helping when they start screwing us. I pray God will help me learn a few more things along this brief journey and that I might through the name of Jesus Christ bless someone. I act silly all the time obviously, I hope God has a sense of humor or I'm going to be in trouble.
