But according to a Trump aide, their son would still be alive if Trump was president instead of Obama.
And a former Trump aide tell us the Khan's son was a secret Muslim terrorist who joined the US military because he wanted to kill Americans.

Oh, my! Turns out Citizen Khan has a bit of a past he didn't want anyone knowing about:
That said, this is a PR beating which Trump COULD have avoided had he the intellectual horsepower of a piss-ant's motorcycle.
They need to keep it up. The more they do the faster they bring Trump DOWN.
I see nothing wrong with his past. I see a lot of lies in this article.
I see this article defending TRUMP. That is all I see.
Smearing the guy inaccurately is what I see. First of all Mr. Kahn did NOT inaccurately accuse Trump of going against the Constitution.
He Trump bypassed the FIRST Amendment. Totally. He said this man had no right speaking against TRUMP. LOL Oh really? Try opening up the Constitution and reading the first Article.
Well, I say that is a site geared to lying. I think that they are trying to SMEAR Mr. Kahn.
That is what I think. The article is full of questionable holes.
Sorry, for the two comments, Nimitz, the first one didn't post and I started re-writing. Anyway I read the article and all it looks like to me is a smear campaign by TRUMP backers and Muslim haters.
So, he made money getting immigrants here. SO WHAT? They are going to try and make more of this than it is, accuse him of all kinds of graft and corruption and make him the bad guy.
No wonder he took his site down. I'm still on his side.
His son was a man who died for our country and TRUMP really screwed with the wrong war hero this time.
"I see nothing wrong with his past. I see a lot of lies in this article. I see this article defending TRUMP. That is all I see."
That's because it's all you WANT to see. :-)
There are (at least) two sides to every story, Sharonna. Ignoring one or the other of them in favor of a belief one already holds is the definition of bias. Bias hamstrings an otherwise open mind.
Point those holes out to your readers. Don't just say they're there and expect people to believe you. That'd be like Trump. :-)
Nimitz, me again (this site is in some weird numerical order)
You don't know me. Or you would NEVER say that.
I just need more than accusations. This doesn't prove anything. AT ALL.
Maybe this guy is a shyster. I still don't think it has a thing to do with Trump's rant. He has a son that was killed in the line of duty.
Smearing the man? Maybe it is warranted. I do not see any proof. I see accusations. I would normally put more weight into this article. But it is Trump's retort, nothing else so far. Where is the PROOF?
Just accusations. By a newspaper I KNOW is vested in anti-Muslim garbage.
I am not on the side of this guy. I don't know him. I AM on the side of those that oppose what TRUMP tried to say in the face of what Mr. Kahn said about TRUMP.
Fair enough--especially that part about smearing a gold star father/mother.
Nevertheless, there's more meat to this story than is known.
