Can we harvest electricity from electric eels?

Assume that money and animal-rights groups are no issue. What's the dope on harnessing electricity from electric eels?

    They had an electric eel tank at a local amusement park. Somehow, they got the eel to 'shock' something and then they measured the voltage. I don't remember if it was AC or DC.
