Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Any of you out there still use desk-top computers with actual keyboards? If you do, do you get teased about it too?
A son lovingly teased me about it a couple of months ago when he and his wife were visiting us from Arizona. I've tried the laptop and notebook type and I do not like them. Of course the disadvantage is that they are mobile and can go wherever you go while my desk top can only be used at home on a counter. We suit each other to a T. Plain wrap economy style. No bells and whistles or fancy packaging! Thank you for your reply Malizz and Happy Friday to you m'dear! :)
Yes, and I also touch type. I hate to text on phones because it is such a slow process to enter characters with one finger. I use my desktop up to 6 hours a day sometimes.
I also buy a new computer every 3 to 4 years.
Edit: And I am seldom teased---about anything.

I cycle between a laptop with integrated keyboard, a desktop with separate keyboard, and mobile devices. All my kids have and use desktop systems as well. My oldest and his girlfriend both have desktops- imperative because they do online school. There are some tasks that are best completed on a desktop, and I suspect that will always be so.
I don't think anyone has ever made fun of me for using a desktop. In fact, my latest one is considered an all-in-one, and is pretty sweet. It gets complements all the time. There's no tower- just a massive touchscreen, with a wireless keyboard and mouse. My son has a pricey gaming computer. The thing is lightning fast. Purely for the benefit of his studies, I'm sure. lol
