Promises that never materialize are LIES. How long does it take for you to realize you were had/duped/tricked/scammed? Why?

What promise has not materialized or in process other than repeal/replace Obama are? The Republicans in Congress are to blame for that and that is why so many are retiring, they don' want to lose their primary.
So other than OC what did President Trump not delivered or is currently working on? This post was edited by my2cents at January 26, 2018 8:08 AM MST

But a promise doesn't just "materialize"?  You either keep it or you don't.  Perhaps if you knew you would be unable to keep it then it would be better not to make it.  But often people want to ingratiate themselves and better appeal to you.  So they promise things probably not knowing whether they can deliver on them or not.  Which I guess is very human.

True og. The future is always unknown for everyone. Sometimes circumstances beyond your control prevent you from doing what you said you would. But I wonder how many people make promises they have no intention of keeping?  They promise so they will get something from you and you deliver and they don't. It happens. A lot in politics. SIGH. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday to thee! :)

Some people are all intention and nothing more.  Thank you.

  • Don't I have the right to hang on to my lies at least as long as you've embraced yours??

The premise isn't correct/accurate. For example, my grandmother promised me she would do something, she died before she could fulfill it. She did not lie to me; her intention did not carry with it her unforeseen death and the accompanying inability to comply with her word.

If a person only looks for the negative way to look at things, it can ALWAYS be found.

Wait, I seem to recall that many people promised who would win the most recent US presidential election, including the candidate herself . . .

    (They didn't lie, did they?)
